This year’s Leongatha Show & Shine was, without a doubt, a massive event. I think everyone who enjoys cars and the like and attends these events, either as a competitor, just to show off their vehicle or as a spectator; have been fed up with all the cancellations and closure of events in 2020 due to the virus. One thing is certain, the place was full and it’s great to see the interest in cars, trucks and motorbikes both old and new. As a motor head myself, these events are truly enjoyable and I especially admire the effort and detail that so many go, not just to restore old vehicles but to keep classics going and in pristine condition as possible. The variety this year was huge and I don’t think I did justice to the event.
But rather than delay the coverage so that I can post the video, I thought I’d present the photos that I took and post the video later down the track. Video editing takes an enormous amount of time and effort, and I have a few others in train, but I think the photos work pretty well on their own as it is. There’s one thing I’d love to see at events such as these, and it can be difficult, is a sort of staging area where it’s possible to take photos and video before the cars are parked. The difficulty with these shows is that once it gets going, the cars are parked close to each other, there are people everywhere and it becomes a major effort to try and isolate the cars. And I’m not suggesting this as a means to take photos to sell, but to be able to get as good photos of the vehicles as possible. The velodrome ground provides a reasonable backdrop, so it would be possible to show the vehicles at their best. Anyway, enough chatter and here are the cars that I photographed this year.
This is but a small selection of the vehicles that were in attendance. Some were old attendees from last year: https://australianimage.com.au/leongatha-show-and-shine-2020/, but why not, as that’s what this is all about.Anyway, I look forward to next year once again and will be working on how to take photos and video more or less at the same time.
