Sometimes when you’re out and about, with camera in hand, you really don’t seem to be able to find anything to photograph, even though there may be a myriad of things in view. I had an urge to photograph something, anything, as we were all cooped up in a shed, sheltering from some hideous cold and wet weather that had descended upon us while camping on the Melbourne Cup long weekend.
That was when I had a Seinfeld moment (the TV show about nothing) while starring at the floor. I was surrounded by these common objects and though it was quite mundane, I though what the hell, why not take a few photographs.
I don’t think anything more needs to be said.
Now pick the face that belongs to them
I’m not sure that my feeble memory could succeed at that task. I might add a group photo as a reference point. 🙂
Oh, but there *is* more to be said…!;-) Maybe since I’m an Asperger (or maybe it’s due to just being “nuts”…;-), I now photograph (in this, my third “incarnation” as a photographer) almost continuously – with about 90,000 frames being shot since buying some new compact, light-weight, and fun-to-use gear almost two years ago. I find everything around me interesting to use as material for making photographs, and I often include my shadow, feet, and hands as part of my photos. A few examples of this are included here:

Also included there is some introductory “blather” about subject matter …;-)

I’m not always sure why I take photos of some things, I think my subconscious ‘sees’ something that’s not fully evident to me at the time, so I follow my instinct and take a shot. It’s only when I start to go through the shots back home that something becomes evident, or it might be years later that I stumble across the photos once again and the penny drops. This time I had sort of an idea that could coalesce into a brief story, though I wasn’t sure it would be worth it.
I note that you like to take shadowy self-portraits. I did that at one time as well. 😉
